Phantom GTX660TI comes in a big black box with the picture of the card on itself. Phantom GTX660TI is one hell of  a beautiful and good looking card .As you can see on the box as well .Also on the box the model of the Graphic Card GeForce GTX660TI and the Memory is mentioned at the bottom right .

On the back side of the box , there are some extra details regarding the features of the Phantom GTX660TI . You can see on the right side of the back of the box . The diagram shows you the internals of the Phantom GTX660TI . Also at the bottom of the box , The PC requirements are mentioned . It is good to mention the requirements because in this way consumer can actually look at the requirements of the card before buying it at given place.

Once you open the box , There are some more description regarding the technologies and the features which Phantom GTX660TI have .You have SMX, Nvidia GPU Boost Technology , Factory Overcloced , 4Phase PWM power supply design , DrMOS , Nvidia TXAA and FXAA technology , Adaptive Sync and also Nvidia 3D Vision Surround Ready .

On one side of the box , The general specifications of the Phantom GTX660TI are mentioned 28nm GPU is used which give you access to PCIe 3.0 , GPU Boost . Also mentioned on the box are 3D vision which it should be and also it supports PhysX and SLI .

After opening up the lid of the box , You can finally see the Phantom GTX660TI inside the box . Again we see the two main features of the Phantom GTX660TI . One is that it runs extremely cool and the other is it runs extremely silent . You can see that it runs 5dB quiter and 4C cooler  under overclocking.

After extracting the packaging we have , Phantom GTX660TI .  The card is very well made and the quality of the material is also very good . The card color is black and it looks quite sleek when you will use it in your gaming machine . The length of the card is not that much big as compared to GTX690 but still its a very big card in size and features.

A Closer Look of Phantom GTX660TI

As you can clearly see that there is Gainward Logo along with the Phantom logo on each side of the Phantom GTX660TI . The whole graphic card has been painted matt black and some of the sides of the card is shiny as well . There is black mesh at the top for air cooling. There are 2 fans installed behind the mesh to push the air out of the GPU .

The cooling design of the  Phantom GTX660TI  is very amazing . The copper pipe takes the heat from the GPU and transfer to the big heat sink beneath these black fans , The heat is further pushed out by the fans . Also there is some spacing on the side of the Phantom GTX660TI for extra air movement .

As I mentioned before the color of the card is black . Also the PCB of the Phantom GTX660TI is also colored black which is very good combination . This whole black thing gives the card a real look of phantom . Also if you look in the below picture you can see the SLI connectors . This Card can be run in 3 Way SLI but not sure of 4 Way SLI as there is no such kind of thing in the drivers . So perhaps this restriction is from the drivers side..

On the back of the graphic card , There are 4 connectors for the display . One is DVI-D , The other is DVI Analog . Also there is one HDMI port and one Display Port . You can run multiple monitors but it will surely decrease the frame rates rather than using single HD display .

In the below pic , The top exhaust of the graphic card is removed . You can see the 2 fans installed inside the plastic case and above the fan is fine quality mesh .

You can clearly see the heatsink in the below picture . This is one big heat sink installed just to cool this beastly graphic card . The 2 sets of fine made copper pipe transfer heat very well to the fins of the heat sink thus the graphic card runs cooler than other ones.

Testing and Benchmarking

The rig we will be using today for testing Gainward Phantom GTX660TI Graphic Card   is ,

  • Intel Core i7 3770K CPU
  • MSI Z77A-GD65 Motherboard

  • Seasonic 1250w Gold PSU
  • Gainward Phantom GTX660TI Graphic Card

The test results for 3DMark 11 are below . Also along with 3DMark 11 , The real time results are mentioned below by testing this graphic in the biggest titles of game running at Ultra Settings . Note that the Resolution is 1920×1080

Power Consumtion And Overclocking

We were able to overclock this graphic car not much more but still the difference of 236 MHz . This card came almost near to the performance of the GTX670 . Also the sound level of the Phantom GTX660TI was still not that much loud as normal reference card gets . The Phantom GTX660TI  was running very smooth after the overclocking without any kind of artifacts or any kind of problem .

Also the power consumption, which is the most important thing that how much electricity your graphic card pulls out of the socket . Phantom GTX660TI   takes about 250-400 Watt .

In the End ( Conclusion )

After checking out the Phantom GTX660TI and testing it in every manner we came on this conclusion that this one of the best graphic card released yet which is in budget range for most of the gaming lovers . Also the performance of the GTX660Ti and GTX 670 is almost near to each other . Thus GTX660TI is still ahead if we look price to performance ratio .

Also the built quality of the graphic card is very good , The overclocking of the Phantom GTX660TI is not a big problem as it performs more well and good after overclocking . The Phantom GTX660TI runs cooler and quieter  as compared to other cards . The Design of the Phantom GTX660TI is also one thing to consider before buying . The Phantom GTX660TI is a complete package for PC enthusiasts .
