This motherboard is built with AMD 770 Nortbidge chipset with SB710 on the Southbridge that supports AM3 processors up to PhenomII with Hyper Transport Bus up to 5200MT/s. It has 4 DIMM slot that supports DDR3 1600 up to 16GB of RAM. It also provides two PCI-E X16 CrossfireX for multi GPU support. It provides six USB 2.0 ports at the back panel and six audio ports.

Cons of the Motherboard
This board is lacking of some features like USB 3.0, eSATA, SATA 6.0GB/s and the Firewire. It doesn’t bother me that much because I don’t use any of those applications but the SATA 6.0GB/s is a bit loss. Overall, this is a solid motherboard and very dependable with unbeatable price!

Testing the MSI 870-G45 exceeds my expectations. It’s totally stable and runs smoothly without any problems. This motherboard is perfectly match with Phenom II X4 955 3.2GHz Black edition.
