Noctua NH-D14 comes in a pretty big box , with all the specifications mentioned on the box itself . The Packaging itself is very secured and clean and all the accessories are included in one big box .
At the back of the box , every feature is detailed explained .
After opening the box and retrieving the accessories , There are many things included in the box , You will find following things .
- 1x NF-P14 premium fan
- 1x NF-P12 premium fan
- 2x Ultra-Low-Noise Adaptor (U.L.N.A.)
- Y-Split Cable
- 4x Vibration-Compensators (for using NF-P12 as case fan)

Closer look at the Noctua NH-D14
From the picture below , you can clearly see that is not the cooler you see everyday . It is one of biggest CPU Cooler in Market and also best in performance . The Design of sandwich 120mm fan and a 140mm fan makes it perform well even in full load condition .
Noctua NH-D14 CPU cooler has densely fins there to absorb heat from the base as much as they can . and after that the fans can push out the heat . You can also see the 6 heat pipes coming all over to the top from bottom .
The base of Noctua NH-D14 is not made of copper as you have many of CPU Coolers having copper base . But this one has more like nickel metal base but the base if pretty finished up for the conductivity of heat . Also you can see the heat pipes which are going to the fins from both left and right side .
Benchmark and Testing
The system we will be using to test this rig , is our standard but this time with some high end overclocking .
- Intel Core i5 2600K CPU @ 4.6 Ghz
- ASUS P8Z68 V PRO
- 8GB Patriot Memory RAM
- Kingston HyperX 3K 90 GB SSD ( OS )
The temperatures we got were very amazing and mind blowing, Although CPU was overclocked at very high end . But the Noctua NH-D14 did its best job .
Note that we did not the U.L.N.A which makes the speed of the fan slow for quiter use .
Readings |
Idle @ 25% Load |
Load @ 100 % Use |
1 |
40C |
59C |
2 |
38C |
56C |
3 |
37C |
62C |
The results above are the mind blowing even the voltage of CPU were 1.40volts but still the Noctua NH-D14 did not let the CPU overheat and with the maximum high temperature is 62C .
Kindly note that it also depend on the other air flow of the chassis if you have a poor air flow of the chassis , there is the chance that these reading might not matches yours .
In the end ( Conclusion )
Well in the end , there are somethings which need to be cleared .
First of all , this is not the cheap cooler . So dont think that you would get this is low price . But the price for the performance is worth it .
Secondly , The looks of the Noctua NH-D14 is plain and is not like attracting one . If you want the performance and give priority to performance over look then go ahead .
Third , Before buying the Noctua NH-D14 keep in mind that whether it would be easily fitted in your computer chassis without blocking or touching other parts like RAM or north bridge heat sink .
But all above , this is one of the best after market CPU cooler which can do job for your overclocked CPU if you are big fan of air cooling .
We are pleased to announce that Noctua NH-D14 CPU Cooler receives award at TechTipsnReview , for the extra ordinary performance and overall quality and working .
