Packaging and Unboxing
V70 comes in medium sized black box , with a picture of SSD printed on the front side . On the top the right side , you can see that the model along with the capacity of the SSD is mentioned . On the bottom right below the picture , some of the features are mentioned which include shock proof , silent and power saving drive .
At the back of the box , transfer speed of this SSD are mentioned .. but we will test this SSD to find the real time readings . Again some of the features are mentioned on the backside as well

A closer look at the SSD
V70 has brushed top aluminium surface with a shining coating to add some distinct feature in the SSD . You can see that on the top left side , there is a Silicon Power Logo printed along with the SSD V70 Model … On the bottom right side , the capacity of the SSD is mentioned . Note that the SSD in manufactured in Taiwan
At the back , you can see that V70 has standard SATA Power and SATA Data Cable Connectors.
In the below picture , you can clearly see that how Silicon Power has done a great job on the appearance of the SSD .. The Texture looks amazing in the below picture and this really provides a grace to the SSD .
Also one thing to notice that this SSD , is few millimeters thinner than other SSD’s like ADATA XPG or OCZ Vertex 4 .
Testing and Benchmarks

In the End ( Verdict/Conclusion )
First of all , We have to say that Silicon Power is one of the notable companies in the IT industry to make computer memories , memory cards and SSD’s. The V70 is one of the high end drives from silicon power’s SSD lineup .From packaging to the testing the , they have done a great job with v70 .
First of all the packaging was great , you don’t see many companies providing the SSD tray nowadays , but it is useful for those who are still using old casing which do not support 2.5″ drives. So 1 point for packaging .
Next , the appearance of the SSD … they have done a pretty good job with the appearance of the SSD . The brushed aluminium surface with the golden color texture looks amazing. The thinner design also feels very great . The SSD is very light in weight as well .
And Last but not least , the Speed of the SSD . We tested the SSD via many softwares and found that this SSD is able to compete with other rival SSD’s . You can clearly see in the benchmarks that the READ speed are around 540MB/s and the write speed are somewhat close to the 300MB/s which are pretty good but not best. But according to us , we think that this is the problem caused by the architecture of the testing method used by CrystalMark Disk and other softwares … So no need to worry as it will perform swiftly in real time environment .
