How to join an online meeting with Google Meet
On the computer:
- Join from a Google Calendar event.
- Join a video meeting from Meet.
- Enter the meeting code or Nickname.
- Join with a meeting link URL.
Join from a Google Calendar event
You can keep track of your list of scheduled video meetings in Google Calendar and easily join a video meeting with a shared invitation via Google Calendar:

- In Google Calendar Click on the event you want to join
- Click Join Hangouts Meet and in the window that opens, click Join Now
Join a video meeting from Meet
- In a web browser, type https://meet.google.com/ .
- Select the meeting from your list of scheduled events.
- Click Join now
Enter the meeting code or Nickname:
- In a web browser, type https://meet.google.com
- Click Join or start a meeting
- Enter the meeting code or nickname.
- The meeting code is the string of letters at the end of the meeting link. You don’t need to type hyphens.
- You can choose any nickname and share it with others in your organization as a quick way to all join the same meeting.
- Leave the field blank to start a new meeting with a new code.

A nickname is a meaningful phrase, such as “our meeting”. You can choose any nickname and share it with others in your organization as a quick way to all join the same meeting.
- Open the Meet app and then tap Meeting code
- Enter the meeting code or nickname.
Note: The hyphens in the meeting code are optional. - Press Join meeting
- (Optional) Depending on whether you’re joining from another organization or signed in to a G Suite account, select an option: Ask to Join
