How to use QR codes in Video Star

Have you ever edited a clip on Video Star to the near perfect level, saved it and then can’t remember how you made it look so great? Or maybe you intend to repeat the same edit on a clip, but for now, you can’t make it look the same anymore.

QR codes in Video Star can solve this problem, as they allow you to export and import settings saved on clips. It’s also a great way for novice editors to add more advanced effects to your videos, as you can access other creators’ settings via QR codes.

How does QR code work in Video Star?

A QR code is a barcode image that contains data in the setting specified in Video Star. This means you can edit the clip and save its settings by exporting it as a QR code.

You can then apply those same settings to another clip by entering a QR code on that clip. QR codes in Video Star basically work as preset settings, and anyone can create or use them.

If you’re familiar with Video Star, you know that there are plenty of editing windows with different effects and settings. QR codes can be generated for almost any of these settings. This saves a lot of time, as you don’t have to edit settings on every clip, and you can simply apply a QR code to something already created.

Start with QR codes in Video Star

Before you get started, you’ll need to download Video Star for iOS.

Not every effect supports QR codes, but this seems to change over time with updates. Make sure your app is up to date as developers can add support for more effects.

Another thing to keep in mind is that QR codes will only work with effects that you have purchased or have access to through a subscription. For example, if you try to use a preset that contains settings with Color Magic Pack effects, you will need to purchase that pack or subscribe to the Video Star Pro package.

How to apply QR codes in Video Star

To get a QR code, you can either generate it yourself (keep reading to find out how), or you can save the code generated by someone else. There are countless social media accounts that post free QR codes for you to use. Some editors even include personalized settings in the preset giveaways.

Once you’ve saved the QR code you want, follow these steps to apply it to the footage in Video Star:

1. Open your video clip in one of the following editing windows: Re-Effect, Transform or Multi-Layer. According to the example shown below, the post used windows Transform.

2. Tap the QR code icon at the top of the screen and select Import. In the windows Transform and Multi-LayerYou will see a message letting you know that entering a QR code will erase all of your current settings.

3. If you agree with that, tap Yes to continue.

The cool thing about these presets is that you can modify their settings. After entering the QR code, go to the settings of the effect and edit it the way you want. So if you have already applied the preset Custom ColoringBut you don’t like brightness, just look for the setting Brightness and adjust it.

Remember that QR code will only work from the window where it was generated. For example, if you try to enter a QR code generated from a window Multi-Layer into the window Re-Effect, then it won’t work. This is because some or all of the settings embedded in the QR code don’t exist in that window.

You need to use a custom preset from within the window you want to import. If not, you’ll get a message that says: “This isn’t a [tên hiệu ứng] QR code “. Just press OK to go back.

How to create a QR code in Video Star

One thing Video Star lacks is the ability to open a backup clip to adjust or copy its settings. In other words, once you’ve created a clip, you’ll never be able to access the exact settings of the effects you applied to it (unless you have a good memory).

Exporting it as a QR code allows you to store those settings outside of the app. This way, you can apply and modify them as you need.

To generate a QR code:

1. Open your video clip in one of the following editing windows: Re-Effect, Transform or Multi-Layer. According to the example shown below, the post used windows Multi-Layer.

2. Proceed to edit the clip the way you want.

One thing to keep in mind if you use windows Multi-Layer is that there are different areas in this window from which you can generate QR codes. First, the window itself Multi-Layer (as shown above) and exporting a preset from here saves the settings of all layers.

You can also export the keyframe settings of an individual layer by opening that layer, tapping on the QR code icon, and following the same steps to export it as a QR code.

For those who want to customize keyframe graphs, you can export the shape of an individual graph. Simply open Graph Selector, choose Custom.

Now, customize the chart in the editor and export it as a QR code by tapping on the QR code icon and following the same instructions.

When exporting the QR code from the window Multi-LayerYou will need to select a clip for each one of those layers, if you want to enter a QR code.

Above is an example of a QR code created and exported with two layers. But as it is entered into the window Multi-Layer With just one layer, the second layer will either appear blank or with the text automatically.
