Because on Windows 10 20H1, your computer will display a globe icon with a dash under the system tray, to indicate that your computer is not connected to the Internet. Despite the fact that you are connected and still have access to the Internet as you normally would (picture above).

Initially, this was identified as “just a display error”, but I and some other users encountered an error that could not connect to the Internet in some software, although still accessing the Internet normally using the browser.

Even when I tried using Google’s DNS 8.8.8.8 and Cloudfare quarterly DNS 1.1.1.1, the error “No Internet” still did not know. Fortunately, I have found a fix to share with you right below.

The values you have just changed above are what Windows 10 uses to check the network status, see if your Windows can connect to those servers and they are experiencing errors.

We have changed to the Google address to make Windows 10 correctly recognize and display the correct Internet connection status as normal. Now restart your computer to apply the changes and check the results!

Method # 2: Use the * .reg file I have created

If you do not like to edit because you do not have time, or are afraid of errors or not familiar with your computer, you can choose to use the * .reg file you created here. You download it by the links below => then double click on it to use.

A warning window to change Regedit appears, click Yes to continue as I used it and have no problems.
