Today we are going to have a look at another great cpu cooler from Noctua which is NH-U14S , The NH-U14S is the 14cm top model of Noctua’s classic U-series single tower CPU coolers, which have received more than 400 awards and recommendations from the international press. While the large, six heatpipe design and the NF-A15 140mm fan with PWM support for fully automatic speed control allow the cooler to best the renowned quiet cooling performance of all other U-series coolers, its 52mm slim shape still guarantees full compatibility with tall RAM modules on LGA2011. Packaging and Unboxing
NH-U14S in medium sized box .. You can see that on the left side the model of the Cooler is mentioned which in this case is NH-U14S . Also some of the features of the cooler are mentioned on the front side , including Full ram compatibility , 6 years warranty and much more .
Similarly , on the back side there are some more of the features mentioned in detail.
Once you open the box you would find , some box including the mounting stuff for different chipset .
Also you would find some of the other accessories provided with the cooler which are , NT-H1 high quality thermal compound , Noctua Badge , L Shaped Screw Driver , Fan Clips and some manuals .
Last but not least , you can see the cooler itself , it comes with the pre-installed one 140MM Noctua premium fan for better performance .
Closer look at NH-U14S
NH-U14S is a great quality cpu cooler . The design is very awesome and its compatible with all chipset and also provides sufficient place to other components such as RAM modules . Also you can in the below picture that the fins of the cooler are very dense , which provides more cooling effect when air passes through it , Also note that the heat pipes are passing through them so this would definitely help you keep your CPU cooler .
On the top side , of the cooler you can see the Noctua Badge embossed .. Also note that the heat pipes coming from down show up on the top and there are 6 heat pipes on each side of the cooler
In the below picture you can see that , the fan is attached to the cooler with the help of the two fan clips . you can attach another 120mm or 140mm to the other side with the help of the clips provided in the accessories .
The base of every cooler should be of great quality , and i must say that noctua have done great job with this . The base is very milled and there is no rough surface so the thermal conductivity should be very good . Also note that the all heat pipes are directly attached to base for efficient heat transfer .
Benchmarking and Testing
The rig we used for testing comprises of following hardwares,
- Intel Corei5 3570k 3.4GHz ( OC @ 4.7GHz)
- MSI Z77A-GD65 Gaming Motherboard
- ADATA XPG 16GB 2400MHz RAM
- GTX 760 Graphic Card
- Antec 1000 watt power supply
The testing methodology we will use , is to check the temperature on stock clock speed when process is idle and when it is on full load . Same with the OC clock speeds.
The load program we will be using is our old PRIME95 .

In the End ( Verdict/Conclusion )
NOCTUA NH-U14S is one of the best cpu coolers of Noctua cooling line . From design to performance everything is great . The packaging they have done and all the accessories they have provided along with cooler is certainly to provide premiumship feeling to the consumers .
Also the design of the cpu cooler is great , the dense fins really helps to cool the air which then take away the heat from the heat pipes , The design to support multiple chipsets and thus providing the space to memory modules and other motherboard components . Also the option to install other 120 or 140mm fan is plus point . In the benchmarks we saw that the cooler performed very well , not at stock speeds but also on at OC speeds as well . Moreover , one thing to mention that the cooler is very quite in functioning when it was being testing on full load at 4.7GHz so its another great thing about it .
