Design and Construction

At first glance, the nexus S is a reminiscent of the Galaxy S (Samsung) and nexus one (HTC) .You will soon see that features of two great phones have bee amalgamated to form one unit.

Like the nexus one the nexus S is slightly rounded at the edges. Samsung Opt. for glossy plastic reminiscent of the Galaxy S instead of the frosted metal of the Nexus one. A frosty, metallic finish always provides better grip hence opting for that was a no-brainer.

Unlike both inspirations, the nexus S has no hard keys on the front. With a power button on the right and volume rockers button on the left, we know that Samsung tried to minimize the hard key, maybe that is the reason they decided to do away with the camera key as well. The back of Nexus S has the speaker grill, the 5MP camera and the LED flash.

User Interface and performance

The Nexus runs the android version o 2.3 (Gingerbread) and is powered by a single core processor of 1 GHz. The phone has a great boot up time and take very little time to be ready for use, It can handle many applications at the same time without the lag and it is suitable for multitasking also.

Calling and Messaging

Call functions on the nexus S are the standard affair . Saving contacts in the phonebook is easy , but make sure that you have enabled the “ system group “ tick boxes , so that all your contacts are viewable . Unfortunately. the dialing pad does not seem to be synced with the phonebook  , so don’t expect contacts to be prompted while you touch the dialing pad .Call quality is unfortunately , average at best . Also the inbox of the nexus S is so dull that even the bright colors cant light it up . So for the calling and messaging , we give it average score .

Connectivity and other features

Internet browsing on the nexus S is a breeze . you can bookmark up to 15 websites and open a maximum of eight tabs in the browser . Thought not exceptional , we declare internet browsing to be the Nexus S best feature . Though the camera functions of the Nexus S are really limited , the 5 MP camera performs its primary task well . Unfortunately , it suffers from a bad refresh rate . The LED flash is a definite advantage over the Galaxy S’ but the designated camera key would have been welcome .

Overall View

At the end , the phone fits on the good rating , the problem is with the calling and messaging as mentioned above , but  it might be not that big problem as seeing all features of the mobile phone .
