Method # 1: Schedule your computer to shut down by not using the software

With only very simple steps, you can schedule and cancel the shutdown appointment. For example, I want to make an appointment in 50 minutes, the computer will automatically shut down.

(Note how this can work above Windows XP, Win Vista, Win 7, Win 8, Win 8.1, I have not tried Windows 10 but it still works fine: D) Use the following command:

shutdown -s -t 3000

In which you need to remember the following:

  • -S : Short for shutdown.
  • -t : time symbol in seconds.
  • 3000 : The number of seconds you want to shut down. Here I want 50 minutes after shutdown so leave 3000, this is up to you.
