#2. How to reduce the Last BIOS Time index on Windows 10

This index only affects the startup time of the computer, but it does not affect the use of your computer.

So the higher Last BIOS Time, the longer the boot process is, that’s all.

If this index of your computer is high, just a few small tweaks in the BIOS settings of the motherboard can be significantly reduced. Some typical settings can be listed as:

  • Enable Quick Start – FastBoot if supported.
  • Turn off or reduce the display time of its boot logo (Asus, MSI, Gigabyte, etc.) to the lowest possible level, to reduce boot time.
  • Put the Windows hard drive to the top of the list of Boot devices, and delete unused devices such as optical drives,…. to speed up Boot.
  • Turn off Wake On Lan if there is no need to use it.
  • Turn off unwanted steps in the POST hardware test (Power-On Self-Test) when booting, for example turn off the test RAM, VGA, CPU, …
  • Turn off ports that you are not using (eg PS / 2, FireWire, USB, etc.) to reduce the time it takes to check when booting.
  • Update, upgrade the motherboard BIOS to the latest version, this should be considered because just with errors you will damage the motherboard or worse, die your motherboard.
