Windows 11 can run Android apps without installing emulators

Windows 11 has just officially launched with a host of new features and improvements including the new Microsoft Store and the ability to run Android apps. To do this, Microsoft has partnered with Intel and Amazon.

Windows 11 can run Android apps directly without installing emulators. Users will download Android apps from the Microsoft Store through the Amazon Appstore. In other words, Microsoft will bring the Amazon Appstore to Windows 11.

The Android apps section in Windows 11 will be powered by Amazon, and this integration will open up new opportunities for developers who are already with Amazon. It is currently unclear if developers can directly submit their Android apps to the Microsoft Store.

However, you should note that not all Android apps can run on Windows 11. For example, apps that use Google services won’t be able to run on Windows 11.

Likewise, not all Android apps currently available on the Amazon Appstore will make it to Windows 11. This process requires the involvement of Amazon as well as developers. It is expected that later this year, Microsoft will share more details on this issue.

To make Android apps run directly on Windows 11, Microsoft uses Intel Bridge technology. This technology has the ability to compile applications after running to be compatible with standard x86 devices from Intel and AMD.

In addition, Microsoft also uses Intel’s multi-architecture XPU strategy to enhance the experience by sharing workloads between Android and Windows programs. It also allows the application to integrate more deeply with Windows graphics and CPU.

Most likely, Windows Subsytem for Linux technology will also be used in the background to improve the experience on Android apps.

Currently, information about the ability to run Android applications on Windows 11 is still quite limited. More details will be provided later this year.
