ABOUT THE PRODUCT
Today we will be reviewing G-TF Rough (XL) gaming mouse pad from Zowie Gear. As most of you might remember, we reviewed G-TF Speed version from the same company before and the results were pretty good. Let us see some facts about this product
The idea for the G-TF series came when they started working with the legendary Counter-Strike player Abdisamad ‘SpawN’ Mohamed – he wanted to develop a plastic mousepad, because he had always been an avid user of plastic surfaces, but they wanted to develop a cloth mousepad, because cloth was the more popular choice in the gaming crowd at the time. After various brainstorms and meetings, they ended up with the idea for the G-TF mousepads, and the ambition was to create a mousepad which was the perfect mix between cloth’s comfort and flexibility and plastic’s high durability friction-free performance surface.

PACKAGING AND UNBOXING
The packaging of G-TF was somewhat similar to the G-TF Speed. G-TF Rough Comes in a long white box with a small transparent hole at the middle of it so you can see the color of the mouse pad which in this case is black. You can see the model of the mouse pad is mentioned at the bottom of the package. Moreover some specifications are mentioned also on the back side of the box which you have seen in previous section.
This mouse pad is one of biggest mouse pad which Zowie Gear provides to gamers. So you should have a decent space at your desk. The size of the G-TF Rough is the same as that G-TF Rough Mousepad. There are not much improvements in this mouse pad as compared to the TG- Speed, It’s just that It has a rougher surface and targets a whole other audience, those you want more accuracy and precision. The surface of G-TF Rough is tightly stitched and gives you a feel of plastic + cloth type material. This allows you the friction free gaming and gives you a firm feeling of thick cloth as well. Also this allows the mouse to glide a lot smoother than the C-GM series.
Also the surface of the G-TF Rough is water proof just like we saw in TF-Speed. Moreover you can see the sides and corners of the G-TF Rough are stitched very tightly so that it don’t get torn off or fray easily. This is one thing which you won’t find in any other gaming mouse pad from Zowie Gear which is the “Spawn” Logo at the bottom left. This was named after the legendary Counter-Strike player “Abdisamad ‘SpawN’ Mohamed.”
The back side of the G-TF Rough is made of very good rubber which allows the gamer to dont worry about losing the position of their mouse pads during intense combat scene. We have tested it for hours of intense gaming and it had a firm grip. But don’t worry, if somehow the mouse pad leaves its grip just apply some bit of water and it will do the work.
Testing and Conclusion
There are few test we made for this particular mouse pad. The first of all we threw some water on the surface of the G-TF Rough just in case if a gamer drops his drink on his pad. The surface of the G-TF Rough is water resistant. Just wipe the water off and you are good to go. Then we tried couple of Gaming Mice to test this mouse pad which are below,
- Razer Naga
- Razer DeathAdder
- Roccat Lua
- SteelSeries Sensei
Each of the above mentioned mice performs at its best level the gliding of every mice was just perfect and could not be described. This definitely enhances the gaming performance. We tried couple of games which are well known in the gaming industry and gaming tournaments including DOTA 2, Starcraft II, Counter Strike Source, BattleField 3 , Call of Duty Black Ops II .
We find that this mouse pad is made especially for FPS games but you can use this mouse pad for RPG games as well. The accuracy and precise movement can be get by using this particular mousepad and with the combination of speed too you are going on the top. We also recommend the other people like Graphic Designers, Photo Editors to try out this mouse pad too which will enhance their ability. Or just any person who wants a friction-less, awesome mouse experience.
