ADATA DashDrive Durable HD710 Portable HDD is one of the best external HDD product from ADATA . This HDD gets different from other External HDD due to . military-grade shockproof and waterproof construction . So without any further wait, Lets start the review .

ADATA send us the 750GB Capacity of their HDD . It uses 5400RPM 2.5″ Hard disk place in tough hard enclosure and with the interface of USB 3.0 .

Packaging and Unboxing

The packaging of the HDD is quite neat and clean . The transparent design is good one because in this way consumer can actually see what he is buying . Moreover on the front of the box Capacity of HDD is mentioned as well the Military Shock Proof and water proof is labeled in below right corner along with USB 3.0 .

After Unboxing the HDD , the accessories are not that much , One USB 3.0 cord is included along with one user manual . And one ADATA DashDrive Durable HD710 750GB Blue HDD .

Closer Look at HDD

The hard disk is pretty good looking and the blue and black design make it look more enthusiastic .The drive is carefully mounted inside a rubber and plastic shell with a carbon fibre effect on each side of the drive; this gives it a very likeable look whilst also giving it a rubber feeling .

Also  the wrap around USB3.0 Design is another great feature , In this way you dont forget to leave USB3.0 at your computer or you eliminate the chance for losing the usb cord .Also the Carbon Vinyl look on the HDD make it pleasing to eyes and attracts the consumer towards itself

On the bottom of the HDD , you can there is SS labeled small cover , When you remove the cover Mini USB3.0 Connecter is revealed .The silicon cover protects the USB3.0 Connecter from dust and moister .

Checking the Durability

Well , for the durability test , The HDD was droped from 5ft , 10 ft and 15 ft height on hard granite floor . The results were amazing that after all those impacts the HDD was working very well without any hardware failure or problem .

On the other hand for the water resistance test , We dipped the HDD in 1 feet tub full of water for 10 minutes . On retrieving the HDD out of water and connecting it again to the computer . The HDD was working just like before .

So , All those certification which ADATA claim about their this HDD are correct . This HDD is one of the toughest HDD we have seen in our life.

Benchmark and Results

The system we used for testing the HDD is  ,

HD Tune Benchmark Results

 The results obtained from HD Tune benchmark are below , which are pretty nice and close to the ADATA results.

• Minimum Speed : 48 MB/s

• Maximum Speed : 102 MB/s

• Access Time : 15.2 Sec

• Burst Rate : 130.2 MB/s

In the end ( Conclusion )

In the end , all we have to say that it is one of its own kind HDD . The over all quality of the the HDD is amazing .The protective measurements which ADATA have applied on their this particular HDD is also mind blowing .

After a bunch of resistance test , we were shocked to see the Dashdrive still working at its max speed .

But for the cons , this HDD has a  5400 RPM hard disk in it . So dont think of getting much from it although you can get around 100 MB/s if you used it with USB3.0 and a good computer system .
