How to change the default browser on iPhone, change the default email on iOS 14

A notable change on iOS 14 and iPadOS 14 is that Apple has allowed to change the default email and web browser. Until iOS 14, Apple still did not allow iPhone and iPad users to change the default email browser that is the built-in Mail application, as well as the required web browser to be Safari.

As mentioned above, Apple has loosened up on iOS 14, allowing users to change the default email and web browser. This means that tasks will go through the operating system and run on third-party applications such as receiving and sending emails, composing emails and opening links instead of having to use Mail or Safari applications as before.

Change the default web browser on iPhone

To set your preferred web browser app as default on iOS 14, follow these steps:

Step 1: Enter Setting (Settings) > scroll down and click browser any you are installing on iPhone in, for example here I choose Chrome.

Step 2: Click Default browser app (Default Browser App) and select the browser you want to set as default.

If the app you want doesn’t appear, it could be because the app’s developers don’t support the feature yet. Web browsers like Google Chrome and Microsoft Edge already support this feature.
