How to prevent uTorrent from opening on startup on Windows 10

uTorrent, available on Windows and Mac, has a default setting that keeps it open whenever you restart your computer.

1. Open Preferences

Open the uTorrent program by double-clicking the icon on the desktop. Choose Options in the top menu bar. In the drop-down list that opens, click the option Preferences.

2. Uncheck Open uTorrent When Windows Starts

A new window will open showing all the options. Click the tab General. In the window titled Windows Integration, uncheck the option next to Open uTorrent when Windows Starts.

If this option remains selected, uTorrent will continue to open whenever you restart your computer. Make sure to click Apply after making changes, then tap OK.

There are other ways to prevent uTorrent from opening on startup, but the methods above are the easiest by far. Some other ways include changing your uTorrent version to an older version, changing Windows settings, and removing uTorrent from the startup folder.
