In the latest version of Apple Maps that came with iOS 13, Apple added the feature Share ETA allows you to share your estimated time of destination with friends or family members, allowing them to track your progress in real time throughout the trip.
The following steps explain how to use the Share ETA feature in Apple Maps on iPhone and iPad. Note that Apple included the feature in the initial iOS 13 public release, but reintroduced it in the iOS 13.1 update, so make sure your device is up to date (on Settings > General > Software Update).
1. Launch Apple Maps on iPhone or iPad.
2. Use the search field to enter the destination address you want to go to.
3. Click the button Directions green Blue.
4. Click the button Go green to start turn-by-turn directions.
5. Using the drag handle, drag up from the bottom of the screen to show more options.
6. Press the button Share ETA.
7. Choose one from the suggestions to share your expected time of arrival or press the button Contacts to select another contact.
Note that Apple Maps keeps you informed of how many people you’re sharing your journey with at the bottom of the directions screen.
