The subtitle feature in Google Meet has been applied to all versions of Google Meet on phones and Google Meet on computers for use. This is very useful when participating in meetings with many people from different countries, helping members in the meeting can better understand the content. Instructions to turn on Google Meet subtitles on phones
Step 1:
First, join a Google Meet meeting on your phone as you normally would. Then, at the online meeting interface, you click dot skin icon in the bottom right corner then select Show subtitles.
Step 2:
Soon we will see Subtitle notifications are on with default display language is English. Now when joining the meeting, the subtitles will be displayed.
Step 3:
In case you want change another language then click 3 dots icon then choose Setting. Continue clicking Language option to change.
Now show other languages for you to choose for subtitles on Google Meet. Currently, Google Meet only applies the subtitle feature for languages including English, French, German, Spanish, and Portuguese.
Done choosing another subtitle language press Save to apply the new language.
Instructions to enable Google Meet subtitles on PC
Step 1:
Also at the Google Meet interface on the computer, we click 3 vertical dots icon as shown below.
Step 2:
Now we will see Subtitles option in Off mode. You click this option to proceed with setting the subtitle language.
Step 3:
Then display a list of supported subtitle languages. We click on subtitle language that you want to use press the Apply button below to save this new change.
