Apple releases iOS 12.4.9 for older iPhones and iPads

Apple has just released iOS 12.4.9 for older iPhones, iPads, and iPod touches, and also software version 8.4.3 for third-generation Apple TV models.

Users of older iOS devices can download the updated software by going to Settings (Settings) > Overview (General) > Software Update (Software Update). The third-generation Apple TV can see the software update in the System menu of the Settings app.

Both software updates this time appear to fix bugs and improve already existing features. The last time Apple updated iOS 12 was in July 2020 after introducing iOS 14. New and updated iOS versions for Apple TV were released on the same day as iOS 14.2 and tvOS 14.2.

Although the new iOS 14 operating system supports all devices that can run iOS 13, it still leaves some models like the iPhone 6 and iPhone 5S (in fact, many people still use it) running persistently with iOS. twelfth.

Apple periodically releases updates to its older operating systems to fix major bugs, performance bugs, and security issues. Updates usually don’t introduce new features to the software, although an update for the third-generation Apple TV in May 2019 introduced Channel functionality on the software.

iOS 12.4.9 supported devices include:

  • iPhone 5S
  • iPhone 6
  • iPhone 6 Plus
  • iPad Air
  • iPad mini 2
  • iPad mini 3
  • iPod touch (6th generation)
