How to hide friends on Facebook using a computer
To customize your Facebook privacy settings for your friends list on Facebook, take the following steps:
- Log in to Facebook at www.facebook.comselect the down arrow in the upper right corner, then select Settings from the drop-down list.

- Find Who can see your friends list in section How People Find and Contact You and choose Edit to the right of the list.

- Select the appropriate option in the drop-down menu. Here, if you don’t want to share your friends list with anyone, select Only me. Or share with all friends except someone, select Friends except… (then enter the name of the person to exclude). Or share with certain people, choose Specific friends (then enter the name of the person being shared).
- To check your adjustments, go back to your profile, select the three dots in the lower right corner of your cover photo and select View As. When viewing with location as the audience you don’t want to share, you won’t find your friends list anymore.
How to hide friends on Facebook by phone
The steps to change your friend list settings on the mobile app are similar to these:
- Tap the menu icon.
- Click Settings & Privacy.
- Click Settings.
- Click Privacy.
- Scroll down to How People Find and Contact You and press Who can see your friends list.
- Tap the option you want to change. Here, if you don’t want to share your friends list with anyone, select Only me. Or share with all friends except someone, select Friends except… (then enter the name of the person to exclude). Or share with certain people, choose Specific friends (then enter the name of the person being shared).
When you set the friend list display mode only me. Your mutual friend information is still visible to friends and strangers on your profile. And your friends list will still be hidden.
