News and Interests feature on Windows 10 taskbar will roll out worldwide

News and Interests feature on the Windows 10 taskbar is currently being rolled out to Windows 10 devices around the world.

Earlier this year, Microsoft began testing its News and Interests feature to automatically display news, weather, stock prices, and traffic information for users on the taskbar.

Similar to Google Discover, News and Interests will be based on previously read content to provide news on that topic and will show up on the Windows 10 taskbar. Personalize your feed after signing in to the Microsoft website with the account used to register on your device, so you can choose from a variety of topics of interest for a more diverse news feed.

News and Interests is currently rolling out on Windows 10 1909 and above devices as well as on devices that have patch Tuesday Windows security update in May 2021, scheduled for May 11.

Windows 10 users wanting to access News and Interests can install a preview of the May cumulative update for Windows 10 this week. You can install the Windows 10 preview update by manually doing “Check for update” in Windows Update, then selecting install the cumulative update.
