Apple’s Family Sharing feature allows users to share their purchased apps and data with up to five other people in the family group. This feature applies not only to Apple Music and other Apple services, but also to third-party apps that support Family Sharing. Here’s a guide to get you started sharing Apple Music with your members.
How to start sharing music with Apple’s Family Sharing feature
As mentioned earlier, you need to use an Apple Music family plan or an Apple One Family subscription to share your subscription. Once you have completed this step, simply follow the steps below.

3. Next, tap the option Family Sharing located just above the list of devices you are currently using.
4. This will take you to the Family Sharing section, where you are the organizer for your family group. Here, tap Add Member to begin.
5. Next, select Invite People to add people to your family. Or, if you’re looking to share your Apple Music subscription with a family member under 13, you can create a child account instead.
6. Now you will have the option to invite whoever you want. Just select the contact you want to invite and send the invitation via AirDrop, mail, or text.
7. The invitation will pop up as shown below. If you’re using messages to invite people, tap send when the message is visible.
You have now completed the step of inviting members to your Family group.
How to stop sharing Apple Music with Family Sharing group members
Depending on whether you want to stop sharing with the entire group or a specific member, we will have different steps as below:
1. To stop sharing Apple Music with everyone in your family group, go to Family Sharing and tap your Apple ID name. You need to be the group organizer to do this.
2. Please tap Stop Using Family Sharing and everyone in the family group will no longer have access to your Apple Music subscription.
3. Or if you just want to stop sharing with a specific member, you can remove them from the family group. To do this, select their Apple ID name in the Family Sharing section.
4. And tap Remove from Family.
And above is how you can start creating groups as well as delete groups or stop sharing with a certain member.
As a side note, when you choose to stop using Family Sharing, all members of your family group will be removed and your use of Family Sharing-enabled apps will also be affected. You can’t stop sharing in a private family group for Apple Music. The same is true if you remove someone from your group.
If you don’t want your subscriptions to be affected, you can also consider switching to an individual plan instead of a family by adjusting your renewal settings. This conversion will take effect on the next payment/renewal date.
While we’re mainly focusing on iPhones and iPads in this article, the process is similar on macOS. Any changes you make to your family group will be synced across all devices signed in with your Apple account.
And here is all the information related to sharing music using Apple’s Family Sharing feature. GhienCongList hopes you can apply to share with your group. Don’t forget to leave a comment to share your experience or feedback with GhienCongList!
